The Godfathers (Necro & Kool G Rap) ‘Once Upon A Crime’ (Prod. by Necro) #Review @Necro_is_God @TheRealKoolGRap @ParkStreetPR

NECRO & KOOL G RAP 600

As a pioneer of East Coast Hip-Hop, Kool G Rap is one of the most influential rappers of the past three decades. As a member of the ground-breaking Juice Crew alongside acts like Biz Markie, Masta Ace, Craig G and others, he really helped carve the NYC sound. Necro’s story is on the same tip, a man who is like a ‘one man industry’ running his label, rapping, producing and much more. On November 19th they release their collaborative project The Godfathers ‘Once Upon A Crime’ which will be released on RBC/Psycho+Logical-Records and we got to hear a pre-release copy.

Hard-hitting, clever lyricism with a heavy coat of grime, this album is not for the faint hearted! Most bloodthirsty of fans have been hyped off the videos and news that’s came in the last few weeks, and this eighteen tracker really is worth the wait. Unapologetically letting rip, the minimalistic sample approach to the production gives the whole album a sound, a vibe and a substance. It’s real Hip-Hop through and through, and banger after banger there’s plenty to get your teeth stuck into.

Over the past several years, there have been a few album collaboration albums that have really worked, Edo G & Masta Ace, Cannibus & Keith Murray, and even Kayne West & Jay-Z to an extent. They only work if the science and chemistry is right and that can be heard on ‘Once Upon A Crime’ on various cuts. It’s living proof that old skool concepts can exist and still sound super fresh; leaving fans little to complain about. There are so many killer tracks and it all bangs hard. This is definitely one of the best independent albums of 2013.

Thanks for passing by http://www.darealbiz.com. Please introduce yourself and tell us about what you have released to date.

I’m Shakezpeare and I have just released my first album H.I.N.D (Hiphop is not dead) my first release of the year, last year i release 3 mix tapes and was featured on so many i lost count. My first mixtape was lost souls that was a colab with my USA west coast rapper brother Crhymes outta SD, the second was a solo project called 33 degrees, 3rd was Memoirs of a psychopath all of which can be downloaded from https://shakezpeareuk.bandcamp.com for free.

Where do you live and what is it there? What’s the main Hip-Hop radio show in your city?

Im from a city called Coventry in the west midlands theres never been a lot there and the main radio station is hills FM.

When did you start making music and more importantly why did you decide to make music?

I started making muskc seriously in 2008 after i came home after a long prison sentence and needed to change my direction in life so i started to put my life and experiences on wax in attempt to vent my thoughts.

When did you release your first song and what was the response like?

My first song was a track called New Dawn whichh i released locally and wend down well but seeing how i have moved on so much i hope it never comes back to surface. lol.

How you would you describe your musical style and swagger?

Honest, brutal, raw, rugged and unpolluted

Let’s talk about your latest project. Where can we get it, who features and what label is it on?

My latest project is called H.I.N.D and is free to download from https://shakezpeareuk.bandcamp.com and it features MC’s from the UK and US Big duty deeze, Crhymes, Ricky rox, Mc Toddlah, and Unseen.

How long did it take to create and finish?

With a lot of help from all the producers and Park Street PR the album has been around 8 months in the making and was cut down from 30 tracks to the 15 it is now.

If I was in the streets and you came up to me with your latest release to try and sell it to me, what would you say? What major points would be in your sales pitch?!!

Three things… I’m not drake, Hip-Hop is my life, and my life has been real now this is my work.

What would you consider to be your biggest track to date?

Going on views War with the devil ft Crhymes with over 111,000 youtube views, but the biggest track that goes down the best Live is Rydah music always get the crowd pumped.

Being totally honest, do you still buy music? If so where do you get your CD’s from?

Yer sometimes I do but only after I’ve heard it cd first online and if i really like i will go get it where ever it at.

Do you like any other styles of music outside your genre?

I love al types of music as long as its good, i was raised on reggae, folk and rock.

So how can promoters book you for shows and what does your live show entail?

They can book my direct from my email tshakezpeare@gmail.com or just get at the UKs number one promoter Tricksta Parkstreet PR. and my live act is only energy a bit more energy and lots of crown interaction I aways give every performance 110%

Do you think illegal downloads are killing the music industry or does it help artists to get out there?

Yer its killing the music business but with the way the mainstream is today it deserves to die and make way for a revolution from the underground.

Good luck for the future. Anything you want to add before you go?

Yer thank you for you time and everyone who took the time to read this I am very grateful. Shakezpeare.
